@kraktus in view of the evidence gathered above, could you please consider removing the "can't reproduce" tag? |
Do you have a reliable way to reproduce? |
I am not a Lichess moderator, so even if I had a way to reproduce it, I wouldn't be able to check it is reliable. However, I guess the best might be to ask users whose reports have not been seen by the mods to submit new reports, and see if these go through (since it might be related to the users' specific set-up). |
Exact URL of where the bug happened

Steps to reproduce the bug
What did you expect to happen?
When reporting a user, the report should be sent to the mods.
What happened instead?
There is a pattern of users complaining in the forum that they reported someone multiple times and that the mods didn't do anything. Then a mod or dev comes and says "I can see your history and you didn't submit any report".
I believe this highlights the fact that the report button is bugged: most of the time it does what it is expected to do, but sometimes (rarely) it doesn't, and the report is lost instead of being sent to the mods.
The reason this bug has not been detected yet is obvious: only mods -- as opposed to the user submitting the reports -- see the reports. In particular, if a report fails to be submitted, then neither the user (which wouldn't see the report anyway) nor the mods (who can't guess a report has been submitted but isn't showing) would notice it.
Operating system
Windows 11, Android
Browser and version (or alternate access method)
Google chrome, Duckduckgo
