Turning evaluation gauge on and off on the Broadcast games screen doesn't seem to turn the engine off #14785

Steps to reproduce the bug

  • Check the box "evaluation gauge"
  • Uncheck it

What did you expect to happen?

My CPU should go mostly idle

What happened instead?

My CPU still works like crazy, activity monitor shows full usage

Operating system

Mac OS 12.3

Browser and version (or alternate access method)

Chrome Version 122.0.6261.94 (Official Build) (arm64)

Also I was expecting evaluation gauge to load from server analysis without running engine locally, but not sure if that is WIA or a bug.

Seems to be more than just the broadcast page - just saw this on https://lichess.org/broadcast/prague-chess-festival-2024--challengers/round-6/fTnA0Pwc/Q7r9LRuY too, but haven't seen this on the analysis board.
