Current situation
Content team members are manually updating leaderboards in "Overview" sections for broadcasts that don't follow traditional chess tournament format/scoring. For example Norway Chess does a classical game where players fight for 3 points (win) or 1 point (draw) and then a conditional Armageddon game for an extra 0.5 points. Content team members are manually tallying points at the end of the day which can be signficant work. Another issue this causes other than manual labour is that there is no leaderboard that appears and the tournament standings are not retrievable from the API.
Feature to add
A way for broadcast managers or content team members to edit the "ruleset" and accomodate for non-standard chess scoring and "sub-rounds" like armageddon games. I understand this would be significant work but I'm certain this type of scoring to prioritize wins over draws or playing extra Armageddon games will be getting more popular in the coming years.
Uses
Content team can customize the ruleset and scoring so that they need not manually tally points after every round and edit it into Broadcast pages (saving tons of work in the long run)
Leaderboard tab is made available on the Broadcast page
Leaderboard is made available via the Broadcast endpoint (currently exists but doesn't work for many top tournaments because the leaderboard is never available)
Personal use: My Discord bot would like to fetch tournament standings and link to the Lichess Broadcast pages so people can check up quickly on tournament results/leaders and discuss in chat while also having the ability to dig deeper into the rounds/games through hyperlinks to the respective Lichess pages

Notes to highlight the problem:
Currently, as shown on the broadcast creation page
There is only 1 button to activate the leaderboard
It works alone and has no extra settings
Typically, the leaderboard is only activated in round-robin tournaments and players are shown
And there will still be the problem that some people reported is that the system sorts by rating when there are players with the same number of points.
in the event Casablanca the boards of the players who started the opening and appear on the leaderboard were added
Swiss tournaments do not have an active leaderboard because not all players are shown and there is a bye problem
team tournament, we have the space to see the teams in the round and not the leaderboard
