It would be nice if we could use the Dark Board with the Transparent theme. This would allow users to have a true-black background and dimmable board & pieces, which would be ideal for both playing & reading on a mobile device late at night. (Currently, I must switch between those two themes, depending on whether I’m playing a game or reading in the forums.) Confer.

The current Dark Board is a modification of Dark, which is gray rather than black. But combining it with Transparent and selecting a black background would allow you to save energy and relieve eye strain late at night, while either playing or reading. After all, by the time you’re dimming the board itself, your background ought to be pure black. IMHO, gray just doesn’t cut it at that point. 😕

Alternatively, simply basing Dark Board on the True Black theme here might be an improvement. But perhaps the simplest thing of all would be to make Dark Board a toggleable checkbox that applies independently of theme selection. This would uncomplicate the menu — once again simply Light, Dark or Transparent, but with a Dark Board toggle available for all themes. (Perhaps it could even be moved to the Board menu instead, since it really only affects that part of the screen.)

The fanciest solution would be to add a transparency slider to the Board menu, not unlike Dark Board Factor in the above link. This way, after selecting a board, you could customize its darkness to something appropriate to your needs, depending on your other selections / screen brightness / environment.

Other suggestions are welcome. I have some experience with HTML, CSS and web design in general, and am available to assist if needed.
