What are the fee calculation rules used by LND?

Analysing the records of forwarded payments, I infer that the fees applied by a forwarding node X are the maximum of:

• the fees on the inbound HTLC according the fee policy set by the forwarding node X for the inbound channel and;
• the fees on the inbound HTLC according the fee policy set by the forwarding node X of the outbound channel.
  Is this correct and if not what are the calculation rules applied by LND to calculate the fees on a forwarded payment?
