We don't have problem to run the fct vad package from our Virtuoso 7.1 instance in EURECOM.
Did you try to recompile it? This is what we do.

Thanks for the note,
no I don’t compile or recompile it. Is it really necessary? I'll probably try that too.

I’ve downloaded the fct vad package from here http://virtuoso.openlinksw.com/download/
(http://opldownload.s3.amazonaws.com/uda/vad-packages/7.1/fct_dav.vad)
If I remember right, it is version 1.13.54 and try to install from the virtuoso GUI via upload package.
If I saw the download page again, I thought, I took the wrong file and tried it again. But also without success.

Well, re-compiling is your only insurance you have the latest build. This was also suggested in the forum thread you mentioned above.

Which is always recommended. Which is true. I've probably overlooked. I thought there was a hint
to use the latest pre-build or compiled version. I remember in another entry in the thread,
the hint is that it works in the older version, and in a newer not. Also the thread is relatively old.
I prefer mostly a pre-build version, because I assume that it is mostly stable.
For problems where the solution is clearly made to a specific version, then use this.
Anyway. What do you recommend? The rebuild of the whole virtuoso, or just the VAD, if that's possible?
Our virtuoso runs on CentOS, what you have as an operating system?

We have compiled Virtuoso and its packages. Our OS is a Fedora (14 I think). We have also compiled Virtuoso on a Debian distribution.

The new version has been installed by a colleague. I'll ask him tomorrow. Thanks for you support.
