Zip associate Cinnamon Settings, so that automates the installation of extensions, applets and desklet, without decompressing them manually in a hidden folder.

Thanks.

Now that we have automatic installation of spices, is this still valid ?

If you have an applet, desklet... with translation, or a gsetting schema, you will requiere to do an installation. If you copy directly the applet to the corresponding folder, this will not work with translation or he could not access to the settings... there are guys without internet connections that can not perform an install from spices web site.. this guys can not use this applet or at less the applet can not be translate for him.
Like i said it's a mechanism to install applets, desklet, locally browsing to the zip file and installing it in the corresponding folder. Compiling the schema and the languages files automatically, like gadgets in windows 7, where ,gadgets will be install using sidebar..
You see something like that in cinnamon?
This is for the people with less resources, do you think that I will need to closed this issue now?

Hmm...ok. If you think it is valid - keep it open. Am just trying to help the repo clean and have active issues in open state.

Yep. this is why i not use gsettings. I store my things directly in the settings file and this is why in all my extensions, will automatically install the languages file on the start if there are not was installed or there are a new version...

@lestcape Do you prefer this way: To implement in the existing tab of the Themes, Applets, Desklets and Extensions, where you can download it from spices-cinnamon.linuxmint.org, a filechooser to select the zip file and to have the work done by cinnamon-settings (extracting, installing).

Yes, this is exactly what i think that could help, and it's not to much, it's only change the source for the installation process and connected this to the local source and do the same...
But see, take care with this, because there are a plan to move the current implementation to gsettings. So if you have a plan to do that, you could lose your work...
I really have several requested to the settings for applet, desklets... clear this requiere a big work in general... In some areas the response for my request it's a negative response, and sorry, but cinnamon settings handle the configuration of my applets, and desklets... So, clear i need to have request. I perfectly know that my request requiere work...
So finally, and like I'm a programer:
