Issue

There are search terms that one can enter into the Cinnamon settings window that should but do not produce useful results.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open the Settings.
  2. Search for any of the following (each of which returns either: nothing; only some of what should be returned; only something that seems irrelevant).
  • alias (as in font aliasing);
  • animation;
  • bin (as in the recycle bin icon);
  • dpi (and the DPI is something that many people will need to adjust urgently);
  • icon (think of the 'Desktop Icons' settings);
  • hinting;
  • locale;
  • scale or scaling;
  • sleep (think of the power management settings);
  • tab (think of alt-tab);
  • track (as in 'trackpad');
  • vsync;
  • wallpaper.

Expected behaviour

It would be a significant improvement were every one of the terms mentioned above - and indeed others besides - to return some relevant results (and ideally only relevant results). Perfection here is hard to achieve and I think things are better than they used to be but there is still some way to go.

Other information

Please see how the Plasma team presents having a greater number of search 'keywords' as an improvement.

If I may: on Mint 20.3, searching for 'wallpaper' in Settings still finds nothing.
