Extended monitor problem

Linux mint 13, cinnamon 1.4.0, intel gma 950 chipset, gf card intel 945GM

When second monitor is connected to laptop as extended monitor, right of primary, cinnamon's cpu load goes 100% all the time. It's extremely slow, background image is blue on all screens. When i switch it to left side of primary, it works fine but everything is shifted, panel disappears, etc.
It works fine with gnome classic.

ok, i have found out that when i set in to be on left side of primary cinnamon actually crashes. Calling it from terminal give me this :

After disconnecting the monitor, cinnamon starts and everything is back(panel, cairo dock, icon are in place etc),

Just tried 1.5.8 from the Ubuntu nightly PPA - still a problem.

Just tried 1.6 cinnamon on ubuntu 12.04.1. Normal version is unusable and 2d is very very slow, cpu goes over 60 all the time.Not for daily usage. :/

What does unusable mean? It crashes? slow? Could be a graphics driver maybe - what driver do you use and what type of graphics?

it is very slow, clicking on menu/panel icons/moving windows/typing is very lagy. I use intel gma 950 chipset, gf card intel 945GM, Default driver.

I can confirm this. I'm on Fedora 17 with Cinnamon 1.6.3 / muffin 1.1.2 and just tried to use an external monitor. The system was usable but everything was extremely slow.

As an experiment, I logged off and logged in using Gnome 3.4, and everything is smooth and fast here.
