 * Cinnamon version (cinnamon --version) 4.6.6
   - Please specify if you are using the daily builds PPA: no.
     (https://launchpad.net/~linuxmint-daily-build-team/+archive/ubuntu/daily-builds).
 * Distribution - (Mint 17.2, Arch, Fedora 25, etc...) Mint 20
 * Graphics hardware *and* driver used: Intel UHD Graphics 620; '4.6 (Compatibility Profile) Mesa 20.0.8' (as reported by 'HardInfo' - _does that report suggest a problem_?)
 * 32 or 64 bit: 64
 * Attach /home/<username>/.xsession-errors, or /var/log/syslog

Steps to reproduce

Uncertain: I will test with other Mint 20 installations. I have Hi-DPI scaling set to x2.

Expected behaviour

No unexplained gaps.

Other information

I removed various applets, to no avail. Yet, perhaps the problem is a spacer applet, though I had it placed near the far right of the tray, and not where the gap is (and indeed the gap is larger than the spacer) . . EDIT: no; I removed all spacers and I still have the problem.

Configuration info, if applicable

Melange log (PasteBin).

I had though the problem was icon theme dependent. But it seems not to be.

I am not seeing the problem anymore - with Cinnamon 4.6.7.
