Hi, there is a terrible hack to create shared libraries which should not be installed https://github.com/linuxmint/cjs/blob/master/Makefile-test.am#L73

This hack prevents building packages by non-root users (fails to create /usr/unused) and pollutes root file system for root user.

There is a proper solution:

Cjs has been ported to meson so this report is no longer relevant.
