Some users may have a need to extract their private libraries into a CSV format. Currently, there is no intention of fulfiling this request within the user interface, but it is possible to do using the API.
Simply run this command line tool:
$ python lib_2_csv.py --save-to-file myfile.csv
Collecting library: Test [jOWhy4PdRBu_wyUoBuGR1g]
Pagination 1 out of 5
Pagination 2 out of 5
Pagination 3 out of 5
Pagination 4 out of 5
Pagination 5 out of 5
Collecting library: Untitled Library 1 [WenstVArTeq2m6qheH-0eQ]
Collecting library: ADS Classic Library [5OFj8pgBTKqup1WMkAA7BA]
Pagination 1 out of 1
Collecting library: No Description [UvwG9EedQJem6gZ4Wd5g3A]
Pagination 1 out of 1
This will result in some output like the following:
$ more private_libraries.csv

As you can see, each value is comma separated, and bibcodes are separated by tabs. If you want this output in something different, then just change the script. The only current option via command line is to choose the output file name:
python lib_2_csv.py --help
usage: lib_2_csv.py [-h] [-s OUTPUT_FILE]
optional arguments:
-h, --help show this help message and exit
-s OUTPUT_FILE, --save-to-file OUTPUT_FILE
Save my libraries to this file.
Note: it assumes your API token resides in the folder ~/.ads/dev_key
.
You can also override it with the TOKEN
variable at the top of the script.
