Is the auto-alignment code available?

Hi there. Good point, indeed :) I also thought it was there!
Let's see if @AmiriE knows what's happened to that part of the code -- he left the group 4 years ago, so a bit difficult to get back to this project, but let's give it a shot!

I haven't got new updates from the authors (except for Nimseed's). I guess it must be too long for them to retrieve the code.

Sorry guys. I can't seem to be able to get a hold of @AmiriE -- who put together the auto-alignment parts.
In the mean time a note that might help: the whole idea of auto-alignment is borrowed from our work in https://github.com/lmb-freiburg/unsup-car-dataset, where the code is provided too.
All that's necessary for applying that method to ModelNet40 is preprocessing of data: conversion to point-clouds, with close-to-uniform distribution of points over the facets; this process is explained in the ORION paper.

I will also try to extract the related scripts from my code archive. But it's probably going to take a while.
