Hello. I did som twaeks into freebsd on my thinkpad t460 but it still hotter than linux with tlp on similar tasks.
So I started powedxx with adaptive flag. It change frequency in right way no issues. I also increase lowest c state in sysctl. But freebsd still hotter than linux.
On same tasks freebsd is +5 / +10 degrees hotter almost everytime. Could you advice something?

thanks

Without extended testing nothing can be said.
First of all, you must compare idle power consumption.
Then little by little run different programs and see power differences.

Thanks. I compared power consumption on linux in powertop and on freebsd in powermon. Looks so similar. Frequencies changing according to loading looks similar as well. However c3 state on freebsd almost unused. C3 state is used only when i do nothing on my laptop. otherwise cpu works in c1 or c2.

What kind of CPU do you have. Some CPUs require on offset applied to the measured value, which FreeBSD usually doesn't. So the displayed value is not necessarily the true temperature.
