This is a step by step guide to get you ready to use SFCalcSheet.

Step 1: Obtaining the SFCalcSheet distribution

Method 1 (recommended): Stable release

Stable releases are always well-tested but may lack the newest features.

Method 2: Unstable distribution

The unstable distribution contains the latest additions but may be slightly broken at times.

Method 3: Download the spreadsheet only (not recommended)

This method gets you the file directly but you miss out on the documentation. To let you catch up there are links to the critical resources on the spreadsheet’s Start page.

Step 2: Unpacking and starting SFCalcSheet

If you got a zip file

  • Download or copy the zip file to a subfolder in your usual download location.
  • Your operating system should offer an “unpack” or “extract” option when right-clicking the zip file. Extract the file.

Firing up the spreadsheet

  • If you are using a desktop office suite, open sfcalcsheet.ods like any other document (in most operating systems and desktop environments this is done by double-clicking). If you are using a browser based online office suite, upload sfcalcsheet.ods to your Google Drive or OneDrive and click it to open it in Google Sheets or Excel Online.
