Hi Luca,

I’ve just re-installed ixpeobssim on my laptop after finally getting pyxspec working on the Apple M1 chip. The package has installed fine (e.g. "import ixpeobssim” isn’t met with an error message), but I’m getting error messages when I try to run commands. As a first check, I tried to run the ngc1068.py code from the examples/ folder, but I got the following error message:

Input file /usr/local/lib/python3.9/site-packages/ixpeobssim-21.0.0-py3.9.egg/ixpeobssim/caldb/ixpe/gpd/cpf/arf/ixpe_d1_obssim_v010.arf does not exists. Abort.

And this is true, the arf file in question is in the directory:

/Users/nai47/IXPEsoftware/ixpesw-ixpeobssim-aa270286883e/ixpeobssim/caldb/ixpe/gpd/cpf/arf/

I get a similar error message when I try to use xppimms:

Input file /usr/local/lib/python3.9/site-packages/ixpeobssim-21.0.0-py3.9.egg/ixpeobssim/caldb/ixpe/gpd/cpf/modfact/ixpe_d1_obssim_mfact_v010.fits does not exists. Abort.

Do you have any idea why the caldb files are not stored where they are expected to be?

Cheers

Adam
