Is there a list of HTTP statuses that not only gives the name ("Not Found"), but also a human readable explanation to the visiting user, say "The page could not be found, but has not been permanently removed, you can try again later".?

The site I took inspiration from has longer descriptions. Perhaps this is what you're after.

But also you can look at the spec itself.

Does this help?

Thanks, https://httpstatuses.com/404 is nice, but I was thinking of something worded towards the end user when serving an error page, versus the more technical description that https://httpstatuses.com/404 gives, targeted at web developers/site admins. I can write them myself, but I was hoping someone had done the copy on them already :)

Well my desire for this project is that. I've not had time :D
