\r\n is seen as 2 newlines, breaking markup when received from windows machines.

no problem, though I was wondering if you were watching. I am using this library quite a bit for my wiki, so finding bugs. Been fixing stuff as it pops up, I'll see about breaking stuff out into another pull request. (i.e. one for small stuff, like links at the end of the text and https:// links.) Also need to build some test cases for them
