Change this line:

return filename.indexOf(sep) > -1 && filename.indexOf('internal' + sep) !== 0

to

return filename && filename.indexOf(sep) > -1 && filename.indexOf('internal' + sep) !== 0

Somehow the filename is null on my Node 8.9
