- 8 oz Short cut macaroni
- 1 oz Butter
- 1 oz Flour
- 2 oz Grated cheese, plus extra for topping
- 3/4 pint Milk
- 1.5 cans Tuna
- Cook macaroni
- Melt butter and saut茅 onion for approximately 5 minutes until golden
- Stir in flour and cook while stirring for 1-2 minutes
- Add hot milk, salt and pepper slowly while stirring, a little at a time
- Cook for 2 minutes while simmering
- Take off light and add in cheese, tuna and macaroni
- Turn into well buttered casserole and sprinkle with extra cheese
- Bake for 15-20 minutes 190C 400 F until brown and bubbly OR put under grill until brown and crunchy
- Add nutmeg, mustard and worcestershire sauce
