Given I have two pandas DataFrames (one for the race results, one with the ARR membership), it stands to reason most (if not all) of the merging-ranking operations could be done with pandas functionality, rather than my current hack-n-dash implementation.

Problem is I'm not nearly awesome enough with pandas to know the details yet.
