Using ledpar LaTeX's \clubpenalty and \widowpenalty are ignored. As manual pagebreaks are next to impossible in ledpar, the user cannot balance the pages manually.

If feature-request #6 is implemented, this issue here will not be important any more.

Could you explain more ? Ledpar have is own system of penalty.

The problem is that ledpar sometimes -- actually quite often -- decides to put a single line of one of the streams on a new page (which is typographically hardly acceptable), even though I set the widow-penalty to the max. Obviously some other penalties are deemed more important by ledpar.
My guess is that the calculating of penalties in ledpar should be optimized (cf also #6), but unfortunately I don't understand fully how it works, so I'm not the one to tell you...

I'll try to come up with a minimal example, but it might be a while.
