The example on this page where you click on the link doesn't block in Chrome (Version 52.0.2743.82 m) or IE11...

It works as expected in Firefox 48.0

Works for me in IE11, Edge and Chrome (54.0.2840.99), probably you have some conflicting extension (eg. adblocker) installed?

It's working correctly in all browsers for me now. I have no idea what was going on. This can be closed now.
