See the screenshot in the comment here: https://manifold.markets/ScottLawrence/will-vladimir-putin-be-alive-on-jan . This happened because I originally had a typo and specified "2023" in the title. (Because I had forgotten what year it is.)

The problem is that the "does this market resolve in the past" check is done in the UI, before whatever magic is used to guess a resolution date for a market where none is specified manually.
