What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Launch osm2garmin (version 1.1) and press the "Start" button
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The planet file downloads correctly. The planet update downloads correctly
(both display a green bar and the label "Completed." The create contours
displays green "usa_east contours update completed."

The output pane displays

May 19, 2013 7:25:11 PM org.openstreetmap.osimosis.core.Osmosis run
INFO: Preparing pipeline.
May 19, 2013 7:25:11 PM org.openstreetmap.osmosis.core.Osmosis run
INFO: Launching pipeline execution.
May 19, 2013 7:25:11 PM org.openstreetmap.osmosis.core.Osmosis run
INFO: Pipeline executing, waiting for completion

The overall progress bar reads 37%. Then it never moves and nothing changes.
The main window freezes and stops responding to the mouse, etc. And many hours
later, the Planet Update bar is still white and says "Preparing updates," the
Overall Progress still says 37%, and the output pane doesn't have anything new
since "INFO:Pipeline executing, waiting for completion."

If I bring up a process monitor, the total CPU load is 15% and osm2garmin and
the java process it launches are using around 0.02 percent of the CPU.

I'm not sure what information would be useful in diagnosing this, but it
happens every time I run osm2garmin.

Here is my system configuration:

System Info:
Product Version = OpenStreetMap Garmin Maps Generator 201112071828
Operating System = Windows 7 version 6.1 running on amd64
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.7.0_11; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 23.6-b04; Oracle Corporation
  Runtime                 = Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 1.7.0_11-b21

The working directory for osm2garmin is on a drive with 907 GB free space. The
system has 16 GB of physical memory and 7.8 GB is in use (8.2 GB available)

Dear user, thank you for your report. Sorry for inconvenience.

According to the provided information, your Osm2garmin can be possibly
outdated. Please try to uninstall your version and download the newest version.

If the problem will persist, please upload here both report.log from your
Osm2garmin working directory and messages.log located somewhere here:
C:\Users\<your-username>\AppData\Roaming\osm2garmin\dev\var\log\messages.log.
Screenshot of the frozen software could be possibly useful as well.

I am experiencing the same problem also. I have tried uninstalling, cleaning
out all directories associated with OSM2Garmin and reinstalling.

Here's my system information as reported by OSM2Garmin:

Product Version: OpenStreetMap Garmin Maps Generator 1.1.250
Java: 1.7.0_07; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 23.3-b01
System: Windows 7 version 6.1 running on amd64; Cp1252; en_US (osm2garmin)

I have attached a screenshot. Log files will be in subsequent post.

Thanks,
Jim

Here are the log files.

I included Output.txt. I noticed that Report.log did not show all the data
displayed in the output window of the GUI. Output.txt is a capture of the
output window.

Thanks,
Jim

Dear user,

thank you for your interest in the software. Please upgrade to the latest
development version build 266 and try to process your data again. The newest
version contains patches which should fix your problem.

I have tried the latest version with the same results.

Here are the steps I took:

Uninstalled Osm2garminGUI-1.1-build-250-windows
Deleted Dev directory
Installed Osm2garminGUI-1.2-SNAPSHOT-build-266-windows
Set memory to 4000M
Started map generation

Map generation stopped at 37%
Restarted map generation (did not delete any data)
Map generation hung at 37 %

Screenshot and logfiles are attached.

If I can assist in debugging, let me know.

Thanks,
Jim

Dear user, according to the logs, your current problem could possibly be caused
by the presence of old update files in your working directory. Please delete
files named update<number>.osc.gz from your working directory and try to run
the program again.

Hello,
I have the same problem, updated to build 266 and problem remains.
Can't see any update files in my working directory.

Dear user, your log updated with the Issue 116 looks newer than this one. The
newer log presents normal operation. The above errors were most probably caused
by the interruption of the updates download process in progress.
