This would be the best way for us to provide helpful clear error messages if, for example, your wrapperPath is incorrect and does not actually point to a file.

I'm not sure validation is the right time for this. Maybe we should just handle errors at the point when these things are used. wrapperPath might be an exception. Needs investigation.
