Play youtube videos on media players

I want to be able to play youtube (or any arbitrary media URL really) on any media player.

Add upnp support?

Hello, me again. Still very interested in this project, still doing my research to figure out how best to set it up.

Mopidy actually has an addon for youtube, specifically Mopidy-Youtube this works great as a youtube music player or other audio purposes.

Using the MPD addon in HA you can click 'Add Stream' and paste a youtube url, prefixed by 'yt:'.

You can play any youtube video you want in your automations/scripts using this method. There's also a way to do it bypassing Mopidy and just using the Snapcast integration but I'm guessing that'll confuse all of your meta streams you have setup via snapcast-autoconfig and/or any other streams you currently have playing.
