Unable to create character config data

Login is successful however when selecting character, the game can't start due to Unable to create character config data error
as shown in image

Tried creating a new character but the error persists

System Specs:

• Model Name: Mac mini
• Model Identifier: Macmini9,1
• Chip: Apple M1
• Total Number of Cores: 8 (4 performance and 4 efficiency)
• Memory: 16 GB
• System Firmware Version: 7459.101.2
• OS Loader Version: 7459.101.2
