Describe the bug

Hi there,

I had massCode setup with google drive (so that I could sync its json database across any machine).

Somewhere along the line the application would refuse to open and would display an error message (see screenshot for details).

My best guess is that google drives volume label may have changed at some point (potentially causing the error). Or there is some permissions issue.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but the same error message persists and I am unable to open the application.

Hello there, this is one bug (two screenshots show the same issue on different machines)

Well, I see two errors, one related to the port, the other to access rights (which I think is your computer settings)

As for the port, check if it is busy with something. Port 3033 is in use by the application.

Apologies, I see a similar bug as been reported on this before. However how do we resolve this issue? I cannot open the application at all, and reinstalling doesn't help...

As I said, if port 3033 is busy, then the application will not be able to start the backend part.

Check what port 3033 is busy with.

I'm not exactly sure how to check the ports, but I checked windows task manager and saw that a dozen massCode instances were running, so I closed them all, then reopened to get the following error message:

Good news, I managed to solve the issue on my windows machine (from this point I just manually changed the google drive letter to "L" in the google drive settings). The application now opens up:

The error shows that such a path does not exist.
I'm not a Windows user, try restarting the system. You can open a discussion about this, perhaps there will be answers.

The issue on my mac still persists however. It doesn't seem like the same steps will work for the mac. Any ideas?

I just managed to get it working on Mac. I used ForkLift to do a clean uninstall of massCode, and then was able to reinstall again with no problems:
