Shift + Del with double confirmation #1383

Expected behaviour

Using Shift + Del deletes folder or file, bypassing Trash.

Actual behaviour

When pressing Shift + Del to delete a folder or file, it seems to do this action twice. It deletes the item but then goes through the process again on the same file or folder.
This happens because there are two identical confirmation dialogs. If you confirm the action in one dialog, the other will fail because the files have been already deleted.

Steps to reproduce the behaviour

While viewing folders and files in Caja, use Shift + Del to delete a folder or file.
The first time it may work properly, but not twice.
If you kill the caja process, Shift + Del is going to work, but just for one time. Then it's going to start failing as described.

MATE general version

MATE 1.20.1

Package version

caja 1.20.2-4ubuntu1
mate-desktop 1.20.1-2ubuntu1

Linux Distribution

Ubuntu MATE 18.04.4 LTS (Bionic Beaver) 64-bit

I can't reproduce the issue in debian testing, it seems to be a ubuntu related issue

Do you reported it to one ubuntu maintainer?

anyway 1.20 is a very old version

@mate-desktop/core-team we support issues with older versions than the currently stable version?

I don't have any resources left to push possible fixes to other branches than supported stable branch, which is 1.24.
.... i am sorry.
But distro mantainers are always free to back port fixes from our supported branch to older distro packages.

This means you should file out a report against your distro to inform you distro maintainer about your problem, to be sure it isn't a distro problem.
Thank you

@sc0w: Ubuntu will be stuck on the same upstream version (1.20.2), only patches are allowed via SRU process, so it doesn't really matter if we make new 1.20.x release or not.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1868493 is probably about this issue, only with confirmation dialog turned off in the preferences.

@monsta thank you! Yes, it's the same bug reported in https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1868493
If I turn off confirmation dialog, the issue arises as described there.
So, in order to solve this issue in Ubuntu MATE 18.04.4 LTS, it's convenient to follow it there?
