In Mate 17, i've set a shortcut key to caja but it wont launch when i press the shortcut. It is the only app that wont launch with a shortcut key.

Workaround: add some dir as argument for Caja there (like caja Downloads) - but don't use the ~ symbol, it won't be expanded to full home dir path for some reason.

confirmed with 1.10, adding a dir helps, ie. 'caja --no-desktop --browser /'

Hello all,
I also did have this issue whit Caja under ubuntu-mate-desktop , and found a solution for it.
Make a new keyboard shortcut with the following command:
#CODE:
caja --no-desktop --browser ""

If I setup a Keyboard Shortcut (ctrl + alt + e) for the "Home folder", pressing the Keyboard shortcut opens Caja. This worked on Ubuntu MATE 17.04 with MATE 1.17 and Ubuntu MATE 16.04 with MATE 1.16.

I can confirm this issue on MATE 1.20.4 on Debian 10 (buster).

Can confirm @yabes7 s workaround.

Running caja from the run application dialog, however, works without the additional argument.
