how to reproduce:

I open firefox (1), I open firefox(2) again, and then I open audacious

Only with alt+tab, I can change between audacious and firefox(1) or (2)

In the pannel bar, If if click on firefox(1), firefox(2), audacious, and press alt+tab, audacious goes to the end of the list icons

I have tested with the latest marco version.

on audacious -> settings -> appearance -> interface plugin ->

with "GTK interface", alt+tab works

with "Winamp classic interface" <- here is the issue

Hmm... shouldn't this be reported to audacious developers then?

I have tested in lxde and it works

the bug is on mate

On the source of marco or mate-panel?

Alt-Tab switcher is in Marco.

Can you try the same with Metacity instead of Marco?

I load metacity in a terminal with "metacity --replace" and same problem

I can't reproduce it with marco 1.12.1 and audacious 3.5 (GTK+3 version).
Will check next version of audacious - they moved back to GTK+2 in 3.6, so it might behave differently.

Oops, that was accidental

Same with audacious 3.6.2. It won't stay in the end of the list when I switch between it and other apps.

Same with marco 1.14.1 (GTK+3 build) and audacious 3.7.2.

Ok, so it's reproducible only when additional playlist window is open.

aha, more info:

  1. If I click on somewhere of the playlist, alt+tab don't works normally

  2. If I click on somewhere of the main window of audacious, alt+tab works perfectly

It's quite a weird behavior... when you click on window list buttons in your tasklist (and click on audacious in the end), it's playlist window that becomes active, not the main window of audacious. After that, you can press Alt-Tab several times and get into main window of audacious eventually.

And after using Alt-Tab the issue disappears: playlist window never becomes active when using only Alt-Tab to switch windows. In the Alt-Tab window, only main window of audacious is shown. To reproduce the issue again, you have to do the tasklist clicks over again.

For now, I can't figure out where and how to fix it... I'm not even sure now that it's in Marco code: it might be our window list applet, or the library it's based on (libwnck). Can you ask audacious developers for a possible hint for us?

The bug in audacious:

http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/636

The question is, why works perfectly on lxde?

Well, it's no wonder they closed the report. But don't they have some kind of support forums or mailing lists where you can ask for help on this?
