Expected behaviour

There's should be a symbol in the close button for the dconf-editor window.

Actual behaviour

There's no symbol in the close button for the dconf-editor window.
Distributions: Ubuntu MATE 22.04, Ubuntu MATE 23.04.

  • sudo apt-get install mate-themes
  • Open dconf-editor
  • Change the themes in mate-appearance-properties under the Theme tab. The symbol in the close button for the dconf-editor window appears as it should.
  • Run gsettings set org.mate.Marco.general compositing-manager false
  • Close dconf-editor, and open it again
  • The symbol has vanished.

I can't reproduce that with mate-themes-3.22.24 and fedora 38.
Close buttons for csd applications and especially dconf-editor are there with all our themes.

[rave@mother ~]$ rpm -qa dconf-editor
dconf-editor-43.0-2.fc38.x86_64

Maybe a packaging problem with your distribution?
Your mate-themes isn't latest release. https://github.com/mate-desktop/mate-themes/releases/tag/v3.22.24

Edit: it doesn't matter if i use compositing or not. Close symbol is always there.
