Perhaps the README could contain a piece comparing using howlong to using the system supplied time command?

Maybe they mean something like this? For comparison sake?

[user@test howlongtest]$ time python helloworld.py 
Hello world!

real	0m0.023s
user	0m0.018s
sys	0m0.005s
