The Gus Theme

The Gus theme for WordPress was designed to be used on a personal site, not as a site for an origination or group. Gus a is clean, easy to read, theme built to be quick but have all the needed functionality for mattrude.com.

After activating the theme, you must go to the Theme Options page from the Appearance menu on your Dashboard. Once there, you must select the Site Owner for the page from the drop-down menu at the top of the page. After selecting the site owner, you may use that persons contact information, or add your own on that page.

Besure to read the Install Guide before downloading and installing Gus.

Prerequisites

• WordPress 3.4+

Download

This is a git repoistory, there is several ways to download and use it's content.

Downloading via a web browser

Download the zip version to be uploaded into your WordPress site.

• Current Stable version - 0.2.2: zip - tar.gz
• Old Stable version - 0.1.2: zip - tar.gz
• Development version

You may also download the theme directly via git:

Installing

After Gus is installed, you must set it up before your site will work correctly. Start by going to Appearance then Theme Options.

Site Owner

The first section is the Site Owner section, this section is required for site proper operation. You must select a owner from the drop down list.

The Owner will be used in the footer and other sections to say who owns the site. The name and other info will be pubic.

Opening Bullet Points

The opening bullet points are the main bullet points on the top lefthand side of the home page, left of the header image.

About Text

The about text is the main text on the home page.

CDN Options

The CDN Options section allows you to set where the themes images and other files are stored on the internet, if this section is disabled, all images and other files will be downloaded from the local server.
