Some time later it works:

I'm not sure anymore but I think I have also seen this with another language (e.g. typescript), e.g. a different language server.
Maybe this is a vscode issue.

Here a vscode problem was described:
microsoft/vscode#84153
And it remains unclear if the fix really fixed the problem.

Here another issue that should be solved: microsoft/vscode#96783

I have seen this now also for the typescript language (for memoryModel). This confirms that it is a vscode issue.

Some time later, e.g. a minute to so with switching windows, the problem was gone.
