My linkit 7688 does not boot after custom firmware that I build with website instructions. The orange light is always on.
What can I do to fix it?

I found that the linkit files are not combined in the openwrt firmware.
eg. cannot find mtk-linkit package in menuconfig.
Is there problem with the 15.05 openwrt?

That likely means you have not added this feed. Note instructions 4 and 5 in the readme on the main page.

Also if you are building for source it is all but imperative that you be able to capture the serial output of the board - even if your Linux image is completely broken, you would still see output from U-Boot.
