Can't Fix.

Amazingly enough, because Android Browser hasn't been updated since 2011, this was an issue with WebKit from around the same vintage.

I've thrown as much CSS as meaningfully possible, but nothing works. The only style-able properties from browsers of this era were color and opacity.

In this case, we need to be careful with long placeholder text.
