"Could not list projects" error #103

Right after installation I tried to switch projects and got error: "Project Plus: Could not list projects".

atom 1.36.0 / Xubuntu 16.03.3 LTS
~/.atom/projects.cson exists and is filled with valid projects (previously used with project-manager)
same error appears no matter how I invoke the action (ctrl-alt-p / command)

@mehcode Do you have any idea what might be wrong? Problem persists.
