Abstract out StringType to its own library or use a third-party one

As part of the refactor, I moved type coercion and validation into its own scalar object. But this has nothing to do with routing, so really should be in its own library. There is a c extension by nikic called nikic/scalar_objects, maybe we can rely on that.
