Currently there is no validation of entries in POTFILES.in / POTFILES.skip etc. Developers / Contributors more often forget to update these POTFILES when new files are added, or existing ones removed, as most contributors aren't aware of the nuances of how the translation infrastructure works, compared to normal coding infrastructure (.h / .c / meson.build etc )
Currently, each project is maintaining a script (or do some indirect check) to achieve this. Most don't do any checks and it gets fixed once someone raises an issue about it.
It would be nice to get this done in meson, so all projects can save time and effort.
