Having problems logging in (again) #636

Hi Neil, Is this conversation helpful at all? |
It was, thank you. Does that mean I've failed the initiative test? This is the equivalent of a secret handshake, is it? |
It does seem to be some kind of rite of passage. :) |
You say "rite of passage", I say "bug" :-) Seriously, you're closing this?! |
No? Sorry, that was a reflex. ;) |
Well, that was a reflex response. You can close this particular issue if you like, and open a new one titled "Connecting to both PAUSE and github is very confusing and unintuitive for users", or something like that :-) Don't want to be negative: I love metacpan, and just want it to be even better! |
You're not being negative. All feedback is appreciated. :) I think this may be a dupe, actually, but I'll leave it open for now. This really does need to get sorted. It's quite confusing and there's nothing in the UI to suggest how to fix it. |
I'm having this problem (I think), but the mentioned IRC log says "Log into the other", which is PAUSE, which I can no longer log into.. |
I wonder if https://metacpan.org/about/faq - "Why can't I link my PAUSE account?" helps? |
I'm having the same problems I've had before (Issue #566) when trying to login.
I selected github from the menu, came back to the same page (assume login was auto and I got redirected back to the same place).
I clicked on the cog, and got "Error: you have to connect your account to PAUSE". Oh, again? Ok.
So I did that, went to identities, selected github, then got the error message again. And going in a fresh browser window I get the same again.
