Many of the existing annotations to abnormal cardiomyocyte apoptosis MP:0003221 and its increased/decreased child terms specifically refer to apoptosis detected in embryonic or fetal/neonatal stages and are thus in error.

Consider changing the primary term label to "abnormal myocardial fiber apoptosis", using "abnormal ADULT cardiomyocyte apoptosis" as a synonym.

Also, move any erroneous annotations to the appropriate terms (abnormal fetal cardiomyocyte apoptosis MP:0011391 or its child terms, as needed).

In addition, check current annotations to abnormal myocardial fiber mitochondrial morphology MP:0014343, some refer to embryonic stages, some do not specify age

the term abnormal cardiomyocyte apoptosis does not specify life stage suggest

  • create a new set of terms for adult cardiomyocyte/myocardial fiber apoptosis (primary label myocardial fiber to match the rest of the adult terms)
  • place these under the existing term
  • move fetal cardiomyocyte apoptosis terms under this
  • remove abnormal myocardial fiber physiology as a parent of the general term and make this a parent of the new adult term
