Composer 2 will be released soon, and plugins need to be modified to support it: composer/composer#8726

Although drupal-check is not a plugin that directly conflicts with Composer 2, it conflicts with the latest version of ocramius/package-versions (1.8.0) that does support Composer 2:

drupal-check needs to be updated to support ocramius/package-versions 1.8.0 or later.
