I'm having the same issue on Arch

It's pretty inconsistent, sometimes it's fine, most of the time it's like this.
When hovering over the icon with the mouse, the issue disappears.

It happens to me sometimes, I don't know why.

Hello,
If have just installed manjaro gnome, and I noticed the same thing happening. It does not happen on pinned applications, but only on opened applications that get added to the right of the panel.
I've tried in X11 and Wayland, and this does happen on either of them

I've also just noticed that whenever the mouse cursor is hovering over the dock, it is showing correctly.
The behaviour is as follows for me:

  1. When an application is oppened, it might show the glitch.
  2. After opening other applications, if switching with alt+tab it is solved
  3. If it is glitching hovering over the dock will solve the glitching
  4. No matter if it was showing correctly or not, when taking the mouse cursor off of the dock, the glitch is shown until I switch applications with alt tab
The above described behaviour was tested with X11, this I haven't tested under wayland.

I've recently experienced this in both the latest Ubuntu and Manjaro. Maybe it's related to GNOME 42 and the new theming system? Just a thought.

I don't remember if when I commented on the issue I was using gnome 41, in any case it is still happening (and more recently more frequently, I think).
If I might as (to see if it is related), have you experience a graphical glitch similar to this:

2022-06-28.20-24-43.mp4

As I don't know if it is related to this or is another problem, because to me looks a bit like a mixture of the normal gnome minimizing animation an the one when dash to dock is enabled, so I don't know if it is a problem with gnome or other extensions, or a bug caused by this extension.

Same thing happens to me. Extremely annoying.

I've had this issue since 2022 and it still seems to be a problem. To me it seems pretty consistent: if the mouse is not over the dock, then it's blurred
image
If it is, then it's not blurred

Could be any part of the dock as you can see, as long as it's just over it.

I've seen mentioned that could be an NVIDIA issue but I'm using an Intel UHD 770, so I'm pretty sure it's a bug in Dash to dock.

Hope my comment will bring more attention to it.

I can tell you the same. Now that I think about it I don't know if it happens in my laptop with integrated intel graphics, but on my desktop with an amd gpu it still happens to this day.

Hopefully it can be fixed though I don't know about gnome shell extension development, so I can't look into it
