PVA vs. BFC - long-term strategy

Hi - we been told by Microsoft Power Platform team that BFC will be discontinued and the MS strategy is to move to PVA with Composer. if this is true, we cannot do any future development in BFC directly instead we will need to use PVA. Has anyone have any idea about this?
