Summary of the new feature/enhancement

Bing Image of the Day provides beautiful photos. Would be nice to have this integrated into PowerToys so it can set these images automatically. A couple of Windows Store apps already do this.

Proposed technical implementation details

Would be great if the Windows Desktop wallpaper would sync with the Bing Image of the Day - something that is included as a feature in Microsoft Launcher (Android), Edge browser and previously Windows Phone.
There are some (undocumented) APIs that allow you to get the URL of the image, but connecting with the Microsoft Launcher team would make sense to use the same API.

Should:

• Automatically set the wallpaper based on the Bing Image of the Day.
• Automatically set the lockscreen based on the Bing Image of the Day.

Nice to have:

• Only allow PowerToys to download the image when the device is on Wi-Fi (to save data).

good idea, we'd have to figure out the licensing for the images and what is approved.

If i can do that, I'll flip it to 'help wanted' so a community member could implement. Until then this can't be worked on and is out of scope for v1.0 for the PT team to work on.
