Show upcoming events on the taskbar calendar in the form of small dots/ symbols on the dates in colours

Description of the new feature / enhancement

The calendar in the taskbar is very handy to use, but to see which day has a event in it you need to click on each day one by one. A small indicator at the days could be very helpful to see that some deadline/event/birthday/etc.. is coming. Different colours could be used to indicate different types of events like private/ work/shared/...

Scenario when this would be used?

When I quickly want to see what my schedule for the week is or if I have a deadline this week or an event I marked in my calendar and don't want to miss it, I could have a look at the taskbar calendar and see with only 1 click if there is something marked for the coming days. If can save many clicks and time.

I'm a little bit concern about this since this may not be able to integrate with Windows 11's taskbar calendar.

I do recommend you to file this on the Feedback hub too.

I agree the calendar is totally dumbed-down in Win11. Hope Microsoft will wake up and make it more useful again.

Agree with @Jay-o-Way. But I don't think we are able to modify this easily since this is a part of the shell. ;)

in Win11, there is an outlook widget but doesn't work to what you're asking for here. I think the issue is depending on the user, literally it will be just dots. My iOS cal view when i zoom out has a dot under every day for instance.

@hakanethem i don't think this is a tweak PowerToys would do as there a Win11 widget for this.
