Microsoft PowerToys version

0.59.1

Running as admin

  • Yes

Area(s) with issue?

System tray interaction

Steps to reproduce

Load PowerToys, wait a while...

As you can see PowerToys is working, just not showing the icon in the system tray

PowerToysReport_2022-06-21-20-22-48.zip

I'm not too sure the bug report zip will help much since I needed to end task on PowerToys.Runner in taskmanager and then reload the program since the tray icon was missing so I couldn't upload a report while its bugged.

The icon only shows whenever I end task and reload PowerToys, then after a while it just disappears for whatever reason.

✔️ Expected Behavior

Tray icon to not disappear

❌ Actual Behavior

Tray icon disappears

Other Software

N/A

Hi, so according to your description, the icon disappears after a while.
Can't really find anything in the logs.
Your Desktop seems quite customized. Are you using some software to make your task bar look like that? I wonder if there's some incompatibility here. /needinfo

I've not changed anything to do with my taskbar in a while, and only noticed the PowerToys icon disappearing with the latest update.

Only thing I've done was update TaskbarX which I did before updating PowerToys

I've used TaskbarX for as long as I can remember and this has never been an issue for me, only started since the recent update of PT.

I've tried using an older version of tbx and got the same issue.

Incompatibility with TaskBarX has been known for a while, perhaps this option helps? #12557 (comment)
