The Monitor Switcher or equivalent functionality would be a good power toy.

Scenario when this would be used?

There are at least two scenarios.

1. using Monitor switcher profiles with Mouse with Boarders gets about as closer to a virtual KVM switch matrix as possible. using a display profile makes what you can do by using resetting the display settings to extend, mirror, or change screen resolution much easier.

2. use with remote desktop. scenario, host pc is running a 4k monitor in 4 k resolution. but when you connect to a remote desktop with a lower resolution like FD (think like a SERVER) . you can select the screen resolution but it ends up in a window with text that is too small to read. workaround before starting the RDP session , change the host resolution to FHD, then when connecting to the remote choose FHD and you get a true FHD display. Mabye there is an easier option to make this work better but the monitor switcher was the best workaround i found. just assign some hot keys to different profiles and switch the montior profile easy.
